Former Keighley College student Angela McConville has been presented with a top engineering award by The Princess Royal.
Angela was presented with the prestigious Mary George Memorial Prize from the Institute of Incorporated Engineers, along with a silver salver, a cheque for £300 and a certificate.
Angela, 23, who works as a production and logistics controller at Bradley Doub-lelock in Bingley, beat stiff competition from throughout the UK and Northern Ireland to win this outstanding national award. It is the latest in a series of successes for the remarkable young engineer, who also won the BTEC regional and national student of the year prizes for the vocational 19-24 category last year.
Ray Barber, her tutor at Keighley College, says: "We always knew that Angela was an exceptional student, but she has proved a great role model for women who wish to enter engineering, a field which has traditionally been dominated by men.
"She is an asset to both the engineering profession and her company, where I am sure she has a bright future."
