A Riddlesden policeman appeared in Court on Saturday charged with making threats to kill.
Francis Herbert Wright, 47, of Coles Way, was charged with making threats to members of the West Yorkshire Police Occupational Health Unit at Keighley between Jan-uary 13 and 16. He was remanded on conditional bail to appear at Bingley Magis-trates Court next Monday.
His arrest came as armed police surrounded a house in Riddlesden.
Officers wearing bullet-proof vests and protective headgear, and carrying automatic rifles, converged on a Coles Way bungalow early last Friday afternoon. The cul-de-sac and surrounding streets were sealed off by police, and residents were told to stay in their homes.
Shortly afterwards a 47-year-old man came out of the house on his own. He was arrested and taken to Keighley police station for questioning.
After several hours a woman was brought from the house and was arrested and taken to Toller Lane police station for questioning. She was later released without charge.
