Cycling: After spending a highly successful winter in Australia, Yvonne McGregor made a successful return to a domestic competition by winning a women's Cycle Racing Association two-day race on a course near Leicester.
The Wibsey woman was unplaced on the first stage, which ended in a big sprint finish, but then set about laying the foundations for her win by taking victory in a seven-and-a-half mile individual time trial on day two.
She covered the course in 17min 11sec to win from former women's world road race champion Louise Jones (GS Strada), who clocked 17-46.
Her team-mate Angela Hunt was third in 17-49.
In the third and final stage - a 40-mile road race - Sarah Symington got the verdict ahead of Hunter, with Yvonne third just three seconds down. This left her 24 seconds ahead of Hunter overall and 31 in front of Symington.
Richard Binks (Huddersfield Road Club) won the only race in West Yorkshire over the weekend - the Aire Valley Cycles Road Race over 31 miles on the Dog and Gun circuit near Oxenhope.
Binks and Richard Dews broke clear with one lap to go, with Binks getting the sprint at the finish.
Comeback rider Phil Webster (Bronte Wheelers) finished third at 55 seconds, just ahead of Paul Watson (Bronte Wheelers) and Martin Ingham (Halifax RC).
