Residents are being invited to have their say about plans for traffic calming in a road where 32 accidents have taken place in the past five years.
It follows North Yorkshire County Council's announcement of public consultation over a similar scheme on another busy Skipton road.
Residents and businesses along Broughton Road, Skipton, are being asked to comment on two alternative schemes aimed at reducing traffic speeds and improving road safety.
Highways engineers have recommended creating a series of formal parking areas along Broughton Road to reduce traffic speeds. Alternatively, the plan could involve reducing the width of the carriageway to providing cycleway and removing most of the parking.
Householders in Gargrave Road are being asked to comment on similar schemes. In five years there have been 22 accidents along the road where there are three schools - Ermysted's Grammar School, Skipton Girls High School and St Stephen's junior school.
Leaflets and questionnaires are being delivered to houses, to Ings primary school, and other premises along Broughton Road.
