Rugby Union: The formbook suggests that the final of the Independent Agriculture Yorkshire Silver Trophy on Sunday, may 2 will feature Heath and Wibsey.
It would be great for Bradford rugby if it was Baildon and Wibsey - the contest would be at Wagon Lane incidentally - but Malcolm Lightowler is quite happy for the Jenny Laners to be underdogs in tomorrow's semi-final at Heath.
"That suits us," says the Baildon coach. "They have beaten us twice in Yorkshire Division Three this season. It would be nice if it were an all-Bradford final, but our priority has to be our league match at York RI on April 17, where promotion rests between ourselves and Heath."
Wibsey scrum half Gary Durn, who watched Edlington's 15-8 defeat at Knaresborough on March 27, admitted to being "quietly confident" about tomorrow's other semi-final at Northfield Road.
"I was talking to Edlington's hooker on the sidelines that day, but didn't let on that I was from Wibsey," said Durn. "He said they are pretty confident."
He added: "They have an even older pack than ours! They have a big set of forwards and a Yorkshire Colts fly half who is a useful kicker."
Bradford and Bingley skipper Richard Petyt isn't heartbroken at losing the Yorkshire captaincy after just one match.
The fly half was at the helm for the Tetley's Bitter County Championship North and Midlands League Three opener last Saturday.
Yorkshire won 38-8 against North Midlands at Worcester, Petyt scoring a try, but he confessed: "The selectors thought the forwards needed a bit of work, so they have given the captaincy to Wharfedale's John Lawn."
Petyt's clubmate Matt Inman, who converted all five tries and kicked a penalty, is set to miss out on the match against Staffordshire at Otley due to illness.
Bradford and Bingley could well be without centre Hugh Gumbs (broken hand) and full back mark Coultas (twisted ankle) at home to Sandal.
