Addingham now boasts information boards which will allow residents and visitors alike to get that bit more from the village.
Baroness Lockwood, herself an Addingham resident, performed the unveiling honours outside the village library on Saturday morning.
Don Barrett, chairman of Addingham Civic Society, said: "I am particularly pleased that the boards are almost an entirely a village effort.
"The big problem has been what to leave out - there is so much of interest in our village."
Mr Barrett said the other board (on North Street near the suspension bridge) was placed in that spot so that it would be seen by Dales Way walkers and Bolton Abbey traffic.
"Hopefully, they will be tempted to explore the village further," he said.
The boards contain drawings of the village and what Mr Barrett describes as a 'potted history' of Addingham.
