THE Marriott Hollins Hall Hotel and Country Club at Baildon has apppointed Ian Pullan as Golf Course Manager of the new 18 hole course which is due to open on May 1.
They are looking to recruit a further eight members of staff including marshalls, starters and golf concierges to make up the golf team.
Ian said of his apppiontment: 'This is a very exciting challenge. I will have the responsibility of bringing together a new team who must work to ensure the course is ready for play and in top condition. I have no doubt that this course is going to be the finest in the region.'
Ian joins the hotel from Southern Golf, the construction company which built the Marriott Hollins Hall course. He was employed by Southern Golf to grow-in and maintain the golf course so that it would be ready for play at the opening.
He previously worked for five years in greenkeeper positions following bis return from travelling in Australia and New Zealand.
Whilst in Australia he worked at two of that country's top golf coursese -The Vines Resort in Perth and Sanctuary Cove near Brisbane. He also worked at Ilkley Golf Club for nine years after leaving school and in that time he was awarded a City and Guilds in Horticulture and Greenkeeping.,
The opening of the Marriott Hollins Hall Golf Course is the final stage of the hotel's £11.4 million redevelopment. The course is 6,682 yards long, par 71 and is built on over 200 acres of land adjacent to the hotel. Individual and corporate membership are available.
