Ten pupils from Braithwaite school took part in the West Yorkshire Schools Swimming Gala.
This was the first time that the school had taken part in the event. The competitors won 6 gold medals and one silver medal.
The school's upper unit head David Raper says: "All the pupils did the school, and themselves, very proud. They have a real feeling of achievement. They are a great team."
Michael Kernon (15) and Simon Rothera (13) came 1st and 2nd respectively in their one width heat and Michael went on to win gold in the final. Sarah Bunton (14), Shaun Stevens (16), Michael Roast (14) and Faisal Ahmed (15) won their heat and final for gold in the 4x4 relay.
James Marlin (18) and Harry Paul (15) took part in the diving event. James won the silver medal and Harry was fourth. Peter Healy (14) and John Whitteron (16) came first and second in their 50 metres freestyle heat. Peter then won the gold, John came fourth.
Fourteen schools took part.
