Keighley Rotary Club is launching a fundraising campaign to help buy a mobile drugs-prevention classroom.
Club members are joining their Bingley counterparts to raise the £55,000 needed for the Life Education Centre. The unit would be used at schools throughout the area, providing health education and drug-prevention programmes.
Paul Milling, for the 40-member Keighley Rotary Club, says: "They have already got one or two in the Bradford Met area but they are insufficient to get around all the schools quickly enough. Life Education Centres is a charity backed through donations and sponsorship."
Several fundraising events are planned by the Keighley club, kicking off with an antiques evening at Keighley RUFC on Wednesday, April 14.
People are invited to take along their antiques, and speaker Andrew Hartley - who has salerooms at Ilkley - will use a selection to illustrate his talk.
Tickets for the event are £6, including supper. For further details contact Mr Milling on 01535 605646.
Other activities in the pipeline include a trolley dash in May, a sponsored jail break, and a concert by John Briggs on October 8.
Fundraising will culminate with a grand ball in June next year.
