An Addingham man's devotion to the internet has caused two Brisbane neighbours to say G'day for the first time.
Six months on from the official launch of the first Addingham web site, Mike Tagg is delighted that his efforts are spreading the Addingham 'gospel' throughout the world.
Mr Tagg, of St Michael's Way, said the Addingham village website had brought together neighbours living within a stone's throw of each other.
"I couldn't believe it when I looked at the internet pages and found these two families had Addingham connections - I bet they couldn't believe it either," said Mr Tagg.
The logistics manager believes the village's entry onto the worldwide web will provide a fantastic opportunity to piece together more of Addingham's history. "People from all over the world have visited the site - from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia," he said.
One of the reasons for the launch of the Addingham pages was Mr Tagg's desire to study the soldiers who gave their lives in the 1914-18 War. He said: "I have received information from places like the Imperial War Museum but I am now looking for other people to carry on the research.."
Mr Tagg is juggling his internet hat with preparations for Addingham gala on July 10. He is still keen for the village business community to come forward with sponsorship offers.
