Bradford Bulls coach Matthew Elliott was an angry man on two fronts last night despite seeing his side make it four wins from five in Super League with a 26-16 success over Wakefield Trinity at Odsal.
His own players and Wigan-based referee Graham Shaw were under fire as a crowd of almost 12,000 were forced to endure an error-ridden affair.
Despite the absence of several key players the Bulls were still a big disappointment, with Elliott admitting: "I thought some players let an opportunity pass them by tonight and without being too critical at this stage we really need to sit down this week and review the performance.
"We have a massive game at Warrington next week now and I look forward to having all the injured players back."
Late errors by wingers Nick Zisti and Nathan McAvoy resulted in tries for Trinity as the Bulls were made to sweat in the closing stages, and Elliott admitted the form of expensive Aussie recruit Zisti was causing concern.
"Nick is playing nowhere near as well as he can. But he is frustrated by it too. I thought one thing going OK was our defence but to concede two tries from kicks was very disappointing."
Elliott also took a swipe at the official, saying: "I was extremely disappointed with the way the game was controlled. The way it was handled denied both teams the opportunity to play rugby.
"We could have had some sparkling rugby. Instead we had good breaks followed by six second play-the-balls."
One bright spot for the Bulls was the form of 17-year-old Queensbury product Leon Pryce in only his third full game. He got his chance when Stuart Spruce dropped out hours before kick-off after his knee flared up again after training.
Elliott enthused: "I thought Leon was outstanding and I was also pleased with Jamie Peacock when he came on."
The Bulls have made another fixture switch after League concern that London Broncos were facing too busy a fixture schedule following their Wembley appearance against Leeds on May 1.
They were due at Odsal on May 12 but instead will now make the trip north on Wednesday, June 9. The Bulls clash at Sheffield, originally planned for that night, had already been brought forward to Sunday, June 6, and will be played at Chesterfield soccer club's Saltergate ground.
