An investigation was being carried out today into a blaze which badly damaged a Bradford maisonette., above.
Smoke from the fire in the first-floor apartment in Montgomery House, Trenton Drive, Manningham, could be seen several miles away when it broke out at 4.45pm yesterday.
About 15 people were evacuated from the nine-flat complex and glass was blasted 50ft from windows at the height of the blaze, which fire crews from Bradford and Fairweather Green took about 40 minutes to put out.
A woman who lives in the maisonette, who was not named, was treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary for superficial burns to her head and arms.
Sub-officer Howard Cleveland, of Nelson Street fire station, said crews faced huge amounts of smoke as they went in. The fire started in the living room.
