A family is demanding action after being left waiting on Bradford Council's housing list for the last seven years.
Adrian and Mandy Turner, of Alma Street, Windhill, Shipley, who have three children, say they have even been forced to bin some toys to make more room in their cramped two-bedroomed, firstfloor flat.
The Turners moved into their flat ten years ago with their first daughter Stacey, 11, but applied to move to a bigger home in 1992 after there second child, Amy. Conditions became even more confined after the birth of son Ethan, now six, but the couple were considered too low priority for rehousing in the Windhill area where they want to stay.
The family say their flat has also been flooded five times and they have appealed to the Council to take action on noise pollution and dog mess left in the flats.
Mrs Turner, 30, said: "I think we've been badly treated. We've seen people all around us move but we are still here. We would like to stay where we are because it's a nice area and the children are settled in their schools."
The couple have taken their case to Shipley East councillor Phil Thornton. He said: "I understand their concerns and am very sympathetic to this family's situation."
A spokesman for the Council's Windhill Neighbourhood Housing Office said no formal offers had been made because the Turners would not leave the area.
