Keighley Albion Under-16's overwhelmed new Leeds team Wyebeck Wolves 66-0 in a friendly on Sunday. The try scoring was opened and finished by Danny Holland and in between Michael Marshall, Andy Broughton, Richard Windle, Rob Littler, James Young, Andy Bailey, Ricky Broughton and Ed Dawson all got a try each.
The absence of regular kicker Steve Young wasn't noticed as all the tries were converted with Marshall kicking seven and Dawson with three and Holland. This run out sets up Albion nicely for a tougher test this weekend against Clayton.
Cubs Under-11's foudn their scoring touch as they ran in seven tries against Deighton, and conceded just two.
Peter Gower and man of the match Joe Slater worked welltogether at half back creating space for speedy backs Keith Shackleton (3), Matthew Lambert and Simon Burgoyne to run in tries. Slater and hard working forward David Iliff chipped in with a try each, while in defence Kristian Stell never flinched in the tackle. Daniel Piotrowicz and Antony Smith also had fine games and gained effort awards along with Shackleton and Iliff. Conversions came from Ben Atkinson, Stell,Shackleton, Slater and Smith.
