Allan Shutt, a PGA Golf Instructor from Burley-in-Wharfedale, will be pushing himself to the limit when he attempts to do a double marathon in aid of the Chernobyl Children's Lifeline.

He will run the London Marathon on Sunday before flying out to America later in the afternoon to compete in the Boston Marathon on Monday..

After seeing his appeal for a local charity to support, Carole Budge, chairperson of the Bradford Link of the Chernobyl Children's Lifeline, was quick to enlist Allan's help with fundraising for the children affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

Allan was deeply moved by the plight of these children and was keen to support them.

He is now training hard for his marathon double and hopes to be able to make a large contribution to the funds needed to bring the children to stay with local host families for a month.

contracting cancer.

The Lifeline raises funds to bring these children from Belarus to this area for a 'Holiday of a Lifetime'. While they are in this country, in a clean uncontaminated environment, the children have a chance for their immune system to recover sufficiently to give them another two to five years life.

Anyone wishing to support Allan can contact him on (01943) 865336, or Carole Budge on (01274) 674694.
