The Craven Football League's remaining Northern Plant Hire Challenge Trophy semi-final on Saturday saw Silsden defeat Keighley 3-1 to earn a meeting in the final with Colne Cricket Club at Gargrave on Tuesday, May 4.

The first Premier Division League Cup semi-final was played with holders Oxenhope visiting Cross Hills and keeping a firm grip on the cup by winning 3-0 after surviving a torrid first half.

Their opponents in the final at Cross Hills, on Friday April 23, will be decided this Saturday when Silsden meet Haworth in the other semi.

In the Division One League Cup the final next Monday, April 19, at Barnoldswick United will be between Hellifield and Grindleton. In the semis on Saturday Hellifield beat Skipton LMS 4-1 and Grindleton upset all the odds by beating favourites Carleton 1-0 on their own ground.

The Division Two League Cup final on Monday, May 3, at Cross Hills will be between Bronte Wanderers and Sutton. Bronte had already booked their place earlier while Sutton twice came from behind to defeat Silsden 4-2 in their semi on Saturday.

In their Division Three League Cup semi defeated finalists last season Grassington went out, losing at home to Skipton Town 3-2 after extra time. Town deserved their victory for the way they stuck in against all the odds while Grassington did not seem to have the urgency that was needed. Town's opponents for the final on Tuesday, April 27, at Gargrave, were being decided last night (Thursday) weather permitting between Waddington and Grindleton.

All the finals kick off at 6.30pm apart from the Division One final which starts at 6.15pm.

In the Skipton Building Society Premier Division on Saturday Addingham took both points from Haworth in a bottom of the table clash, winning 2-1, and bottom club Cowling had a welcome 3-1 victory over Colne Cricket Club but it is probably too late to help in their relegation battle.

Skipton Bulldogs maintained their winning run, defeating Rimington 4-3, and two victories over Silsden would really open up the title race.

In the Division One title race Grassington took a point off Bradley with a 2-2 draw on Saturday and then went top when they beat Skipton LMS 4-2 on Tuesday.

Clitheroe and Bronte Wanderers both kept up the pressure on leaders Sutton in Division Two, both winning, Clitheroe at home to Skipton Bulldogs 3-2 and Bronte away to Barrowford 2-1. And Bronte inflicted the first league defeat of the season on Sutton on Monday, winning 3-1, while Embsay, another club in form late in the season, defeated Silsden 2-0 on the same night.

In Division Three Lothersdale took over the lead after defeating Settle 12-0 on Saturday but dropped a point on Monday with a 1-1 draw with Carleton. Their crunch match comes this Saturday when they meet Grindleton which is a four-pointer for both teams.

Earby beat Waddington 4-2, Cononley had a 1-0 victory over Intake and Carleton beat Colne Cricket Club 2-1

In midweek matches last week the Premier Division saw wins for leaders Silsden, who had a 6-1 victory at Addingham, and second-placed Oxenhope, who were home winners over Colne Cricket Club 7-2.

Reigning champions Embsay virtually relinquished their title by losing to Skipton Bulldogs 1-0 and Haworth took a point from Cross Hills in a 3-3 draw.

In Division One Skipton LMS defeated bottom club Gargrave 6-1 and Carleton's promtion hopes ended with a 1-1 draw at Bradley.

In Division Two Sutton went two down against Cowling but pulled back to win 4-2 and Clitheroe had a narrow 3-2 win over Barrowford while Embsay defeated Skipton Bulldogs 3-2, ending Bulldogs' promotion hopes.

And Keighley did likewise to Silsden's hopes by defeating them 1-0.

In Division Three there was a shock result at Carleton where Grassington lost 2-0, Bradley ended any hopes Ilkley Juniors Youth had of promotion by defeating them 2-1 and Skipton Town beat Cononley 3-2. The match beween Grindleton and Settle was abondoned after 10 minutes when a Grindleton player suffered a badly broken leg.
