Sajid Saddique, of 2 Kendall Mellor Court, Keighley, was ordered to be detained in a young offenders' institution for six months for dangerous driving on seven streets in Keighley town centre.

The magistrates said: "The dangerous-driving offence came about during a police chase when the defendant made a determined attempt to evade arrest. During the chase both police officers and members of the public were put at risk of serious injury.

"Other regulatory and document offences were committed at the same time for which the defendant wished to evade detection."

They also noted the failure of the defendant to co-operate with subsequent police enquiries.

Former Keighley Cougars player Shane Ranginui Tupaea, of 100 Cooper Street, Springfield, Oldham, was ordered to pay £40 for speeding through Oakworth.

Gavin Anthony Wilson, of 12 Wensleydale House, Braithwaite, was ordered to carry out 70 hours' community service for damaging a door and crockery worth £220 belonging to Susan Johnson and carrying an offensive weapon, a pickaxe handle.

Mohammed Ashfaq, of 2 Ada Street, Keighley, was ordered to pay £100 for driving without insurance.

Dipak Patel, of 29 Bradford Street, Lawkholme, Keighley, was put under a daily curfew order made with electronic tagging for driving while disqualified.

Joanna Louise Westlake, of 7 Green-field Crescent, Cullingworth, was ordered to pay £200 for driving without insurance or a licence and failing to give her name and address.

Fayyaz Nawaz, of 31 Cartmel Road, Keighley, was ordered to pay £175 and banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance, a defective tyre and broken rear light.

Simon Peter Small, of 22 Victoria Road, Oakworth, was ordered to pay £200 for stealing a bottle of rum from ASDA.

Richard David Tidswell, of 19 South Street, Denholme, was ordered to pay £255 for speeding.

Shazad Aziz, of 163 Skipton Road, Keighley, was ordered to pay £140 for speeding.

Andrew Thomas Brown, of 22 Easthill Street, Barnoldswick, was sent to Bradford Crown Court for sentence for stealing a video recorder and Sony playstation from a house in Haworth.

Gareth David Corcoran, of 52 Coronation Way, Braithwaite, was bound over for 12 months in the sum of £100 for using threatening behaviour.

Mark Frederick John Lambert, of Braithwaite Avenue, Braithwaite, was ordered to pay £225 for driving without due care and attention and driving without insurance, test certificate or licence.

Arfan Akhtar Abdullah, of 16 Victoria Road, Knowle Park, Keighley, was ordered to pay £150 for driving without due care and attention.

Terence Carr, of 62 North Dean Road, Keighley, was ordered to pay £665 for driving without insurance and test certificate or a licence.

Daniel Antony Janecki, of 6 Norton Street, Silsden, was ordered to pay £100 for speeding.

Marc Redman, of 276 Fell Lane, Keighley, was ordered to pay £190 for speeding.

Mubarak Ullah, of 17 Calton Street, Keighley, was ordered to pay £185 for driving without insurance.

Brendan Joseph Crowley, of 127 Staveley Road, Keighley, was ordered to pay £140 for driving without insurance.

Christopher Holmes, of 16 The Mallards, Silsden, was ordered to pay £100 for speeding.

Tracy Jayne Kelly, of 13 Knowles Street, Denholme, was ordered to pay £955 for speeding, driving without insurance and no test certificate, and failing to produce documents.

Reginald Norman Murphy, of Waterfall, Banks Lane, Riddlesden, was convicted of speeding. The case was adj-ourned for a decision about disqualification.

Michael Geoffrey Atherton, of 5 Howbeck Avenue, Riddlesden, was bound over in the sum of £100 for six months to keep the peace.

David McDermid, of 38 Bracken Road, Ingrow, was ordered to pay £350 including £150 compensation for assaulting Laurence Welsh.

Darren Roy Webb, of 75 East Avenue, Beechcliffe, was ordered to pay £735 including £685 compensation and carry out 140 hours' community service for theft.
