A Keighley church is planning extensive alterations to cope with an increase in its congregation. Trinity Church, in Fell Lane, has applied to Bradford council for planning permission to enlarge the worship room, vestry and church hall because the present building is too small for its members.
The increase in the congregation is caused by the amalgamation of three local churches: the congregation at Trinity Church has now tripled in size. The extension is expected to cost £150,000 and will be funded by the sale of a church building in Spencer Street, Keighley.
Brian Campbell, the church secretary, hopes the new look will attract more new members to the church, as well as to the many activities, like the parent and toddler group, which are held by the church.
