A Keighley pub and nightclub crashed with debts of over £80,000 it has been revealed. Oscars Music Bar in Worth Way was part of a company called Transtar Promotions operated by Graheme Howell. He also ran the Grinning Rat and the Rat Trap which has also recently gone into liquidation.
A creditors meeting held on March 27 heard how Transtar Promotions had collapsed with debts totalling £83,171.34p. Among the creditors were the Keighley News, HM Customs and Excise and the Inland Revenue. Receiver Peter Sargent, who is based in Halifax, has also been appointed receiver to the Grinning Rat-Rat Trap after it too was placed in receivership last month. He would only say that the Transtar Promotions case had now been dealt with and he could not comment. In the case of the Grinning Rat and the Rat Trap he says it is not company policy to discuss ongoing matters.
Mr Howell was not available for comment after staff at the Grinning Rat said he had moved out of the premises.
