They're heavily into monsters in Bingley, where unsuspecting visitors to the Valley Group might just encounter Godzilla or a tyrannosaurus rex round almost any corner.

The company specialises in designing, printing and producing for innovative display materials found on every High Street and has just completed its latest monster contract.

The project involved the design, development, production and distribution of a number of promotions to support the UK retail video launch of Godzilla for Columbia Tristar Home Video in a deal worth about £1 million.

The Bingley-based Valley Group, which started in 1892, has a reputation for performance in this field.

Involvement with the Godzilla contract is the third monster project handled by the company.

Its creative and production teams were also responsible for display materials used worldwide for the global launch of Jurassic Park on video followed by point of sale products for The Lost World.

The firm has seen its turnover grow from £1.6 million ten years ago to £3.6 million five years ago to £6 million this year.

New orders on the horizon give directors every confidence that sales will bring in £7 million next year.

The firm, which employs 54 staff, is also looking to take on extra workers as new and more ambitious jobs come in.

The company has had a national outlook for many years as it had a London office shortly after it was founded and did work for firms in the capital.

James Haggas, the firm's sales director, said today: "The Godzilla contract called for the production of selected point of sale items including standing displays for use in stores and windows.

"The reaction of the video trade to these displays has been very positive - with larger orders being placed than originally estimated," he added.
