Bradford's Stakis says it will regain its title as the biggest hotel venue in Yorkshire after a £250,000 refurbishment is completed.
The hotel could be rebranded a Hilton after the Stakis Group was taken over by Ladbrokes earlier this year.
Work starts next month on the hotel's Bronte suite which will be capable of catering for more than 1,200 people at a time.
The suite will be closed for four weeks while the work is carried out including installing a soundproof partition to allow the area to be split into two large rooms for functions.
The suite will be carpeted and given full air conditioning and there will be a portable dance floor to give the area greater flexibility.
The new room will be able to seat 600 people comfortably at dinners instead of the current 450.
Stakis general manager Chris Ainsworth said today: "This investment demonstrates our continued commitment to better service and I am delighted that the hotel will soon boast the largest conference suite in Yorkshire."
The refurbishment follows hard on the heels of a £165,000 bedroom refurbishment at the hotel which has a total of 120 bedrooms. The hotel employs 100 staff with 18 meeting rooms.
