Guiseley's hopes of UniBond double glory were destroyed last night when a 4-1 league defeat at Blyth Spartans left the title ambitions of the cup finalists all but dead.
They could still overhaul second-placed Worksop Town, but only a minor miracle would see them displace leaders Altrincham.
Six points now separate Guiseley and the Cheshire side with both clubs having three games remaining.
Three goals in a four-minute spell late in the first half ended Guiseley's challenge at Croft Park.
Michael Farry's 36th-minute opener was followed by strikes from Ross Lumsden and Michael Muir.
The visitors hit back in the 66th minute when Peter Atkinson scored from the spot after Colin Hunter had been brought down, but keeper Steve Dickinson had to save a penalty from Wayne Edgecombe in the next minute.
Striker Nick Peverill completed the scoring when he netted the game's best goal - a 15-yard chip over Dickinson after 70 minutes.
Liversedge's Northern Counties East meeting with Pickering Town at Clayborn and Farsley Celtic's visit to Trafford in UniBond Division One were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
Celtic will now travel to the Manchester outfit tomorrow night, while Sedge will host their division's bottom club on Tuesday, May 4.
