Unused greenhouses in the grounds of Cliffe Castle which have suffered years of vandalism have been demolished.
Bradford Council, which did the work, is now looking at alternative uses for the land.
Council recreation boss Barry Thorne revealed what was being done after a resident expressed concern about the demolition.
The site lies away from the main public area of Cliffe Castle park, up Spring Gardens Lane.
Councillor Thorne said that in the past few years the greenhouses have been used only for short-term storage.
He stressed that the rest of Cliffe Castle nursery, which sells plants to the public, is safe thanks to funding from Keighley Single Regeneration Budget.
The grant enabled adults with learning disabilities from the nearby Woodville horticultural project to take over the running of the nurseries.
Surplus equipment and plants in the greenhouses were removed before the demolition and transferred either to Woodville or the nursery.
Coun Thorne said that much of the Cliffe Castle site, possibly including the greenhouse site, is not owned by the council, but held in trust.
