Sheffield United boss Steve Bruce has told Ipswich to expect no favours when they meet at Portman Road on Sunday.
Ipswich need to win to have any chance of pipping Bradford City for the second automatic promotion place.
But Bruce, who spent three years at Ipswich's big East Anglian rivals Norwich, said: "If we can't go up ourselves we want to make it as difficult as possible for others.
"Ipswich meet us at the time when we are playing some of our best football of the season.
"If Ipswich get promotion they are going to have to clamber over us to get there. We are not in the business of doing anyone any favours.
"I watched Ipswich lose at Birmingham last Sunday. Never mind results recently, we know they are a cracking side."
