Yorkshire skipper David Byas has warned India that they should expect no easy ride in their World Cup warm-up match at St George's Road, Harrogate, on Sunday.

After beating Worcestershire at New Road on Monday to go top of Division One of the National League, Yorkshire found themselves without any further domestic cricket until the start of their championship match with Middlesex at Headingley a week today.

It is a gap in their programme which Byas particularly did not want at this early stage of the season and the World Cup warm-up on Sunday, plus a similar match against Scotland at Scarborough next Wednesday, are equally as important for Yorkshire.

"We certainly won't be turning up at St George's Road with the intention of giving India net practice" said Byas bluntly.

"They have their own agenda and we have ours and we will be fielding our strongest possible team in an effort to win the game."

Yorkshire will probably turn to the same side which beat Worcestershire apart from Matthew Hoggard replacing Gavin Hamilton who is now with Scotland's World Cup squad.

India will not finalise their side until after their warm-up game against Leicestershire at Grace Road today but Yorkshire are already looking forward to welcoming their old friend Sachin Tendulkar, the star of India.

Tendulkar was Yorkshire's first overseas player in 1992 and the teenager endeared himself to the fans and his new team-mates alike with his charming personality and fantastic ability.

There are no advance tickets for the game and admission prices are £10 for adults and £7 for concessionaries.
