Today the T&A reports the goodwill messages from across the district from people who are willing the Bantams to make Bradford sporting history tomorrow. There surely can't be a Bradfordian who won't echo that support for the players as they travel to Molineux to take on Wolves and secure themselves a place in the Premiership.
If they do clinch promotion, it will have been a remarkable achievement. It is not many seasons ago that Bradford City were languishing in Division Two and there were plenty of sceptics only too ready to suggest that that was the best they could ever hope for. The Bantams have proved the doubters wrong. They have come a long way to the top of Division One. And now the prize of a place among British soccer's elite is within their grasp.
Their achievement owes a great deal to a lot of people, not least chairman Geoffrey Richmond, who is so close to realising his own personal vision for the club. It also owes a lot to the many fans who kept the faith through the dark days and now are reaping the reward for their loyalty.
Regardless of the outcome tomorrow, or of any play-off scenario, it has to be put on record that the Bantams have been brilliant in their climb to the top and have lifted the spirits of all of Bradford.
But we must banish any doubts. The Premiership is waiting. Bradford City have the quality to win a place in it. The champagne is on ice and we are just waiting for that final whistle tomorrow for the party to begin.
