A motorist had a lucky escape when his car was crushed by a metal beam.
The 28-year-old man, whose name has been withheld by police, had to be freed by firefighters from the wreckage of his vehicle. He received slight injuries and was discharged after an overnight stay at Airedale Hospital.
The incident happened in Dalton Lane, Keighley, near the junction with Bradford Road, on Monday afternoon. The car - a Honda Accord - was in collision with a beam being transported by a forklift truck from the Modern Equipment and Foundry Engineering Ltd site, in Dalton Lane. A fire crew returning from another incident came across the accident and used cutting gear to release the trapped driver.
A police spokesman says: "Enquiries are continuing. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed." No one from Modern Equipment and Foundry Engineering Ltd was available for comment.
