Bront buffs can step back in time next week as Keighley's cinema unveils a golden oldie from before the Second World War.
The 1939 version of Wuthering Heights starring Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon will be screened on Wednesday at the Picture House. The movie is held by many to be the definitive film version of Emily Bront's classic tale of forbidden love, obsession and revenge.
The screening marks the Picture House's first foray into the archives as part of its new series of Wednesday matinees.
Manager Roger Bartle says the Oscar-winning Wuthering Heights was chosen to show alongside a new film version of the classic play An Ideal Husband. He adds: "We appealed for patrons' suggestions of films they would like to see and the response was clearly in favour of the classics."
Wuthering Heights is shown at 2.30pm and An Ideal Husband at 3pm. Future screenings will include musicals, epics and other outstanding films of yesteryear.
Pensioners will be given a free cup of tea or coffee during the interval.
