Voluntary groups in need of money are being urged to take advantage of a range of funding opportunities.
Keighley Voluntary Services (KVS) is arranging a meeting, a training session and a leaflet to help organisations find cash.
Ann McGrath will be in Keighley College's Swire Smith Hall on Monday, May 17, (10am-noon) to outline how groups could gain lottery grants of up to £5,000.
A training session will be held in partnership with the Charities Information Bureau on Thursday, May 27, to teach volunteers how to use the Funder Finder database. The computer program lists hundreds of organisations, businesses and trusts willing to give grants for projects. Based at the KVS building on Skipton Road, the database is available to any community or voluntary group, but training is needed.
The free session will be held at the KVS building from 10.30am-12.30pm. Phone 01535 665258 to book a place.
KVS is also preparing a leaflet which will reveal how local groups can apply for small grants from the C2M millennium fund. The Bradford-based C2M committee gives cash to one, two or three people with innovative ideas to improve life in their communities. Decisions will be made on the first round of applications over the next few weeks and further applications are likely to be invited in July.
