Student Suzanne Lear has won a prestigious award for her interior design.
Suzanne is among three third-year students at Leeds Metropolitan University to scoop a national award.
Suzanne, from Sutton, Emily Morley and Catrin Morgan are taking a degree in interior design. They won three of the five prizes in their category at the national Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts' Student Design Awards.
Suzanne, 23, 're-designed' the washrooms at Glusburn school along an education theme with fun elements including see-through pipe-work and jumping soap. She was awarded a £2,000 travel award. She will travel to New York to broaden her knowledge of design. She then plans to return to Yorkshire to work. She has already attracted commercial interest in her work after winning a £2,000 competition organised by Scottish and Newcastle to design a stained-glass window for the Rat and Parrot pub in Leeds.
The students' work will go on display, along with other winners, in an exhibition at London's Oxo Tower later this month.
