Twins Paul and Daniel Hinchcliffe struck just the right note in their bid to become the best accordion players in the country.
The pair brought home the award for best advanced duet from the British Accordion Championships in Scarbor-ough.
The 17-year-olds, sons of accordion teacher Harry Hinchcliffe, competed against adult players from all corners of the British Isles. They were making their first appearance in the advanced class after being runners-up for two years in the higher intermediate class.
Paul and Daniel, of Winston Avenue, Cross Hills, are A-level students at South Craven School and have been studying the accordion since they were nine years old. They have just begun studying for their grade nine in accordion - the highest grade - and will later move on to diploma studies.
Daniel has been offered a place at the Royal Academy of Music in September to study under Owen Murray, the UK's only accordion professor.
Mr Hinchcliffe says Paul, while also likely to continue his accordion studies, is more likely to take a business degree at university.
Paul and Daniel take lessons with their father and have also studied with his former teacher Raymond Jones in Bradford.
