Late-night tenpin bowling for Shipley at weekends was expected to receive the go-ahead from planners today.
Bosses of Go Bowling, off Market Street, were seeking permission to open for business until 2am - just 15 months after they opened.
Planning officers were recommending members of the Council's Shipley area town and country planning sub-committee to give approval.
A report to today's planning meeting said the proposals to open later were in line with the Council's aim of regenerating Shipley town centre and of encouraging private investment.
But conditions were proposed restricting the bowling alley to 2am opening only on Fridays and Saturdays, with a midnight cut-off on other nights of the week.
"While unrestricted operation would be unacceptable, a more
limited regime would offer a reasonable compromise," according to the report.
"Extending the opening hours to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays only would appear to strike a balance between economic viability and residential amenity."
