Motor Sport: Baildon's Steve Patrickson won the fourth round of the British 125cc Championship at Snetterton.
On his Peter Howell Partitions Honda, he charged from the front row of the grid to take the lead on lap three, and opened up a four-second lead towards the end of the race.
Patrickson broke the lap record by 1.2 seconds in the process, but eased up before the finish.
"It was a great race," said Patrickson, "though I had a couple of hairy moments getting past Alan Green and Leon Haslam in the early stages.
"We touched several times, and none of us was giving an inch, but when I got to the front I could control the race and broke away from them."
Patrickson's young team-mate James Howell, 13, from Idle, also had a good day, finishing 13th in the Aprilia RS125 Superteen Challenge on his first visit to the Norfolk circuit.
