Tributes have been paid to Wyke grandmother and coach operator Pauline Shaw, organiser of annual trips for disabled people, who has died suddenly at the age of 57.
Mrs Shaw, who ran Shaw's Travel in Towngate, with her husband Alan, died in Holland after suffering a heart attack during one of the company's tours to Amsterdam.
The company ran all kinds of trips but the couple every year organised a special one - for over 40 local disabled people, to Blackpool.
Paying tribute, her daughter Antonette McAndrew said: "She was a lively person. Wherever she went, the party went. She will be missed by the whole community. I've had a hundred cards of sympathy."
Wyke DIY owner Trevor Denton said she would be sadly missed. "I have known her husband Alan for almost 30 years and my condolences go to him and his family,'' he said. "The travel company was very popular and well run. She will be sadly missed in the village," he added.
Mrs Shaw decided learn to drive a bus back in 1971 to help set up the family travel business with her husband and became the first woman in the country to get a public-service licence.
The family have made arrangements to fly her body back home and a funeral with Requiem Mass will take place at St Joseph's Church in Pakington Street, Bradford.
Mrs Shaw is survived by her husband, daughter Antonette and two grandchildren, Damian and Madeleine.
