Residents in East Morton had a lucky escape on Monday evening when a flaming car narrowly missed their own vehicles.
A Fiat Panda which was on fire rolled ten-15 feet along Morton Lane - narrowly missing parked cars - before coming to a rest opposite Morton Close Nursing Home.
Sub Officer Jim Clarke from Keighley Fire Service says: "Residents living along Morton Lane told us they saw the car on fire moving down the hill under its own steam. If it had veered to the right it would have piled into four of five cars."
The fire service was alerted to the fire at 7.15pm and one pump from Keighley station was dispatched to the scene. The blaze left the car severely damaged.
Fire officers believe the fire was started deliberately and Keighley police are now investigating.
