An action-packed day for all the family is promised by organisers of this year's Keighley Gala on Saturday, June 5.
Events will kick off at 1pm with the crowning in Town Hall Square of Gala Queen Emma Jones, of Glen Lee Lane. The 16-year-old, who won the crown in February is studying for her GCSEs at Holy Family School in Keighley.
Emma will be attended by Deputy Gala Queen Rebecca King, 15, of Spring Avenue, Long Lee, and Junior Queen Karen Hudson, 12, of Oakbank Court. Princess Elisa Todd, eight, of Highfield Road, Rosebud Natasha Walker, seven, of Spring Avenue, and Page Boy Matthew Roberts, six, of Redcliffe Street, will also be on hand.
Other attractions will include the gala procession of colourful floats, fancy dress and majorettes which will move from Malsis Road to Victoria Park, the venue of the afternoon's entertainment, the death-defying stunts of the Motor Cycle Madmen, music, dance, a martial arts display and fireworks.
Music for all ages will be provided by Bradford Metropolitan Concert Band, DJ, Mr Topper's Roadshow and the Tierney School of Irish Dance.
After other exciting attractions such as a martial arts demonstration, the Gala, now in its 122nd year will go out with a bang from its traditional firework display at dusk.
