The quirky side of local history is investigated in a new book by Ingrow woman Marie Campbell.
And the author was in Keighley bookshop Reids on Saturday to sign copies of her book Curious Tales of Old West Yorkshire.
Marie says the £7.95 paperback is already selling well in local bookshops and appealing to lovers of both local history and the paranormal.
She says the 229-page book is not only about psychics, astrologers, witches, wizards and prophets.
She says: "It's not just spooky - there's a lot of social history, the folklore that surrounds the places and people."
Marie has carried out in-depth research around West Yorkshire, poring over newspapers, maps and old books to find dozens of interesting stories.
She has aimed to put stories into their historical and geographical context and showed how each person has affected the course of local history.
She adds: People find it difficult to imagine the old ways of West Yorkshire, but they should not be forgotten.
"They are a legacy left in our keeping."
