Keighley Police are investigating an apparently unprovoked assault on a youth which left him needing hospital treatment.
The 15-year-old was walking along Hanover Street, Keighley, with three female friends around 10.40pm on Saturday. He was attacked by a man who dragged him to the floor and kicked him repeatedly in the head and face.
The attack left the youth with serious head and facial injuries. He was taken to Airedale Hospital where he was treated for a broken nose and cuts to his face. The man then ran off.
He is described as white, between 16 and 18 years of age, 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and with blond hair parted into curtains.
He was wearing a yellow long-sleeved check shirt worn outside a pair of light-coloured jeans and black shoes.
Sgt Allan Gee, of Keighley Police, says: "This was a particularly vicious attack on a young lad. At that time in the evening there were no doubt other people in the vicinity who may have seen the suspect and can shed some light on the person's identification."
Equipment worth £300 was stolen from a town-centre sandwich shop at the weekend.
Thieves made off with a microwave worth £200, a £40 radio and a £50 heater from The Sandwich Shop in Lawkholme Lane. They used a brick to put the shop window through before making off with the three items.
The theft took place sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning and Keighley police have issued the description of two suspects. The first is described as a white male wearing a dark jacket and Adidas tracksuit bottoms. The second is described as a white male wearing a green jacket and dark-coloured jeans.
Sgt Gee says: "The descriptions are simple but we would like to speak to these people in connection with this theft as they were seen in the vicinity at the relevant time."
