TWINS Paul and Daniel Hinchcliffe have been crowned UK champions after beating players nationwide.
The pair came top in the advanced duet class at the United Kingdom Accordion Championships which were held at the Spa Complex in Scarborough.
The twins were competing against musicians from throughout England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland and gained a 90 per cent score to take the top title.
The 17-year-olds, who live in Cross Hills, are the sons of accordion teacher Harry Hinchcliffe.
They have been runners up at the contest on two previous occasions.
The twins both began playing the complex instrument at the age of nine and are now studying for their grade eight exams in June.
They are also preparing for musical diplomas in August which will lead to letters after their names.
Both Paul and Daniel have been offered places at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where they would study under Professor Owen Murray, the UK's only accordion professor.
