Tragic teenager Vicky Hutchinson who was waiting for a heart transplant has lost her fight for life.
The 17 year-old who fell ill on Boxing Day, died in Leeds General Infirmary at 6pm last night surrounded by her family.
And today, her devastated father Gary who runs The Girlington pub in Thornton, Bradford, with his wife Janet, said: "She was a beautiful kid. It's impossible to describe how we feel."
Vicky's hopes of getting a new heart were raised three weeks ago when one was found and she was taken to a hospital in Sheffield. But the heart was not compatible and she came back to hospital in Leeds.
Yesterday her condition deteriorated and she suffered two heart attacks and kidney failure.
Her aunt Julie Hutchinson said today: "We are numb. It's heart breaking because she was so full of life.
"She was bubbly. She didn't pull any punches and she enjoyed life and had so many plans. She was so beautiful. We all died a bit yesterday."
Vicky, 17, who loved horse riding, dancing and worked at Grattans, developed a cold on Boxing Day last Christmas.
She then discovered she had a hereditary heart condition similar to that which took the life of her ten-month-old brother Adrian ten years ago. She was diagnosed as having an enlarged heart and since February has spent several weeks in hospital.
Julie Hutchinson said: "She was very hopeful. She kept saying 'When am I getting my new heart'. She knew someone had else had to die. We never for a minute forgot about the other people.
"Now I wish everyone could carry a donor card. All of us carry one now."
She said none of Vicky's organs were able to be donated after her death.
Her sister Angela, 19, said more people needed to be aware of the differences organ donation can make.
"Before this happened we thought, like most people, we don't want people taking bits out of our bodies but if it's going to help someone's life, people should be more aware."
Regulars at the pub have been offering their support in the shape of fundraising efforts for the hospitals.
Mr Hutchinson said: "Everybody has been marvellous."
A date for the funeral is not yet known.
