Chairman Geoffrey Richmond announced today that Bradford City are to give preference to season ticket holders from the last two seasons in the distribution of their remaining season tickets.

The Valley Parade staff have been inundated with applications since City won promotion to the Premiership, but chairman Geoffrey Richmond is anxious to make sure existing season ticket holders do not miss out.

He said: "The world seems to have gone mad as regards season tickets since we got promotion.

"But one of the unfortunate side effects of what has happened is that there are a small number of existing season holders from last season and the season before who have been unable to get season tickets.

"What we want to do before any remaining season tickets go on sale to the general public is to give priority to season ticket holders from the last two seasons.

"We feel these people should have preference over the general public. We value their support and we want to give them preference.

"We will be able to make an announcement later in the week about how they will be able to buy their tickets."

City are still considering how many tickets will be available on a match by match basis.

The club could easily sell all 16,000 seats in the home sections of Valley Parade, but Richmond has decided to keep some tickets back for casual sales.

He said: "We are looking at the number of tickets that are going to be available on a match by match basis. We haven't decided on the number, but it will be no less than 1,000.

"We are also looking at introducing membership and postal schemes to avoid people having to queue each time. I don't think people should be put through that."
