Police today appealed for information in a bid to find thieves who dumped hundreds of photographs of the Yorkshire Ripper, his former wife and her friends on wasteland in Bradford.
The Telegraph & Argus yesterday revealed exclusively how about 400 photographs had been stolen from his former wife's car on Saturday.
They were handed to the T&A by Peter Wood, 31, who found them on wasteland off Soho Street, near Bradford city centre.
Police said the photographs were discovered only yards away from where the car was broken into in Tetley Street on Saturday afternoon.
They said that the photographs and other personal documents belonging to Sutcliffe's former wife, Sonia, who has remarried and is known as Mrs Szurma-Woodward, had been snatched sometime between 2.34pm and 4.20pm.
The collection features a colour wedding picture of the couple, holiday snaps and an original wedding invitation to their marriage at Clayton Baptist Church in August 1974.
Mrs Maria Szurma, Sonia's mother who still lives in the city, said that her daughter had been very "distressed and upset" that such personal items had been stolen.
Anyone with information should contact Bradford Central Police on (01274) 376459.
