Geoffrey Richmond believes there will be no new signings at Valley Parade before mid to late June despite intense speculation surrounding Bradford City's first capture as a Premiership club.

The Bantams have been linked with a whole host of names since winning promotion including striker Kevin Campbell, Charlton midfielder Neil Redfearn and Sheffield Wednesday defender Jon Newsome.

However Richmond says the speculation claiming Paul Jewell's first signing is imminent is wide of the mark.

He said: "The whole world seems to be trying to guess who our first signing will be but I firmly believe that we won't see any movement on incoming players until mid to late June at the earliest.

"Of course, things can happen very quickly in football so something may happen but my inclination is that we won't see anything happen until next month.

"Earlier this week I spoke to agents offering us two established Premiership players but both of them were valued at wages of around £20,000 per week. These were not players released by other clubs but players contracted for next season."

Meanwhile, Richmond has revealed that City are still investigating whether they can float on the stock exchange.

Last week the Bantams were told that the name 'Bradford' was not sexy enough for investors but the City chief said: "We are exploring every avenue to try to get a maximum amount of resources for Paul Jewell to strengthen the side."
