Bradford Grammar School student Tom Newman has been chosen for the Welsh national junior rowing squad to compete in the Home Internationals in July.
At 16, he will be the youngest member and he will be sculling in a junior quad.
The week before that he will take part in the National Championships of Great Britain.
It's all part of a busy schedule for Tom who is based at Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club at Rochdale where he is coached by Adrian Stott.
Tom raced in all the Great Britain junior international trials this season, starting with long distance races in Peterborough last October.
He also raced in trials for the Wales Junior Rowing team on the River Wye at Monmouth earlier this month.
Seniors were also racing for selection for places in the men's and women's teams to represent Wales at the Commonwealth Championships at Ontario in August.
Tom was initially selected to represent Wales in quad sculls at the Home International Regatta at Cork on July 24 when the Belgium national teams will also be competing.
Selection of single and double sculls will be based on racing performance at the National Schools Regatta at Nottingham next weekend at which he is aiming to win a place in the Great Britain Junior final trials.
