Pool Mills' Australian batsman Sean Fitzsimmons blasted a superb 190 as Mills notched a massive 293-9 against Rothwell in the Second Division of the Leeds League.
His knock was the highest individual innings in the Leeds League this season. He was dropped on 20 but thentook full advantage of his good fortune.
In all he hit 11 sixes and 22 fours and he gained good support from Darren Lyons with 38, Paul Wilkinson with 29 and Richard Wilkinson with 15 no.
Rothwell however denied Mills victory by hitting 254-8 to draw. Jamie Wilkinson in a devastating spell of opening bowling took 5-23 off eight overs for Mills.
The other Mills bowlers were unable to build on this and in failing light could not prise out the last two Rothwell batsmen.
However, Mills claimed 11 of the 12 points on offer toppling Rothwell from the top of the division and consolidating their own third place just six points behind new leaders Oulton.
Village rivals Pool CC continue to set the pace in Division One and they made it three successive league wins when they defeated Khalsa by six wickets.
David Murphy top scored for Pool with a fine 77 and Richard Bolton gave support with 53 as Pool made 194-4.
Tracey Mahoney and David Tidmarsh then took four wickets apiece as Khalsa were dismissed for 134. Mahoney finished with 4-54 and Tidmarsh with 4-33.
Second-placed Woodhouse kept the pressure on Pool with an 80- run win over Leeds Police.
Otley Town also had a batsman in top form with their Australian Darren Hall hitting 124 in their total of 221 against Kirkstall Educational.
Town continued their spirited start to the season by taking 10 points out of 12 in the better of their game with Kirkstall.
Town batted first on a flat track that looked good for runs, and Town were not to be disappointed, finishing up with a fine total of 221, mainly due to Hall but Tony Smith and Matthew Bates supported him with 20 and 22 respectively.
Town then knew they needed to do something they had done only once before this season, that is bowl a side out. Alas, once again they failed, but the bowlers should be credited on their persistence as the Kirkstall side did not look like they were all that interested in a victory, settling for 190-8, when they could have made a better effort at getting the runs.
Nick McNeice then picked up 3-47 as Kirkstall were restricted to 190-8 in reply and N Haffeez took 3-36.
On Sunday in the Hepworth Cup, Town were drawn against lowly Ben Rhydding, newcomers to the Second Division, and if they thought they were in for an easy ride, they were to be mistaken.
The Ben Rhydding batsmen showed what they could do in gaining a more than a respectable total of 161-9. However, this would have been heavily reduced if the Town bowlers had been more accurate, and the Town fielding had been less erratic.
When it was Town's turn to bat they were made to work hard and after being 41 for none, they went to 43-2 and Ben Rhydding sensed a collapse. No such luck in the end as opener Ben Hawley scored a steady 54 not out while Matthew Bates made a calypso 66 not out, Town finishing on 155-2.
Olicanians are still without a win and they slumped to their fourth successive deafeat when they visited Garforth. The home side hammered 238-7 with Adrian Cowgill trying to stem the flow with a return of 5-92.
