Keighley went into their game with Bowling Old Lane defending an unbeaten record, but were soon up against it as the home team made a steady start.

Their later batsmen were able to build on the start as Keighley's bowlers were unable to make the necessary breakthrough. Old Lane piled up 225 runs for the loss of just four wickets. Dale Towler bowled 20 overs, taking two for 72.

Keighley made a disastrous start to their innings and were soon 21-5. It took a partnership of 72 between Tim Arnold and A Gulsheraz to bring some respectability to the scoreline.

Arnold went on to make a solid 52 not out and Gulsheraz a rapid 62. In the end Keighley finished on 147 in a game they thought they would win.

Keighley 2nds claimed their first win of the season on Saturday with a five wicket victory over Bowling Old Lane.

Keighley put the away team into bat and made steady progress through the batting line up. Tight bowling and excellent fielding constricted the runs to 68 when Bowling Old Lane were bowled out after only 27 overs.

Ali claimed four wickets for only 13 runs, one with the help of the quick thinking Nasser Kamal who claimed his first stumping of the season. Mark Cryer bowled well ending with figures of 4 for 18 and Craig Ratcliffe got the other two wickets.

The Keighley run-chase started, like so many before, with the loss of an early wicket, but Andy Smith and Imran Kamal put on 27 for the second wicket.

They lost two more wickets but in the end completed the task with five wickets down. It was a top fielding and bowling effort by Keighley who play away at Lidget Green on Saturday and are at home on the Bank Holiday to Manningham.
