SILSDEN completed their hat-trick trophy haul when they beat Skipton Bulldogs 2-1 to win the Premier Division title
They were trailing 1-0 at the interval, but rallied in the second half to secure the title. The champions went on to beat runners-up Oxenhope Recreation 2-0 and remained unbeaten after beating Keighley FC 6-2 in the final league match on Monday.
Their record of rampaging through the season unbeaten in any competition and dropping just three points all season is a record which will probably stand for years.
The only issue left to be resolved is the Division Three title. Grindleton Reserves need to take one point from their match with Settle United tonight (Friday) to be confirmed as champions.
They have stuck to their task despite a hectic run-in to the end of the season, recording a 9-2 victory over Skipton Town Reserves and 8-3 over Settle United to go level on points with Lothersdale Athletic.
However, they have missed out on the double after being beaten 2-1 in the Cup Final replay. Town were on top in the opening stages of a keenly fought contest, pushing Grindleton back into defence and Andrew Whitton opened the scoring.
Grindleton came into the match and caused problems in the Town defence before equalising through Jason Ingham. At the start of the second half Grindleton were well on top but could not put the ball in the back of the net despite creating better chances.
Extra time was looming when Ashley Miller found space in the Grindleton penalty area. He beat his marker, and found the net with a superb finish to give Skipton Town victory.
The cup and individual mementoes were presented by League chairman Mr G Aldersley.
