Eccleshill United booked their dream home quarter-final with neighbours Bradford Park Avenue thanks to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Selby Town in last night's West Riding County Cup tie.
Top scorer Stuart Taylor's first half double virtually sealed the result.
He netted after just eight minutes when he gathered a cross from the right wing and ran wide to the left hand side of the area before drilling in an angled 12-yard shot.
Just before the half-hour he stunned the visitors with a similar strike as another shot on the run flashed past the Selby keeper.
In the early stages of the second period both sides struggled to emulate their form in the pulsating first half and though United shaded possession they did not increase their lead until the 83rd minute.
Former Halifax Town forward Karl Cochrane netted a shot from the edge of the area following an astute return pass from Martin Dolan.
Thackley's hopes of reaching the last eight were dashed by a fine away performance from early Northern Counties East Division One leaders Goole who clinched a 3-0 win at Dennyfield.
The two clubs could meet again next term in a Premier Division meeting and following last night's display the East Yorkshire outfit would more than hold their own in the top flight.
The first half was quite even, the visitors keeper made excellent saves from Steve Warbur-ton and Tim Ryder, but Goole had the rub of the green and turned around 2-0 up.
In the 18th minute a shot came back off Thackley keeper Mark Tasker's crossbar and fell kindly for Kevin Severn to shoot home. Minutes later former Hull City and Guiseley striker Matt Edeson scored the second with a low, angled drive.
The home side were never out of the game until Goole struck for a third time midway through the second half. Chris Clegg broke through, cut inside, and slotted a fine shot past Tasker.
