Police are questioning a 21-year-old Bradford man in connection with the rape of a young mother on New Year's Day.
Officers at Bradford CID arrested the man today and are interviewing him at Bradford Central police station.
The arrest in the city follows the brutal attack on the 27-year-old woman at 11.30pm on January 1 in the Barkerend Road area of Bradford Moor.
The victim was asleep on a sofa in the front room of her home when her attacker broke in through a window.
He woke her before attacking her. He carried out the sex attack in darkness while the woman's one-year-old baby slept in a room next door.
A special incident room was set up and detectives also began investigating links between the attack and reports of burglaries in the same area.
DCI Roger Gasson, of Bradford Central CID, warned the public to be on their guard and appealed for their help in tracing the implement used by the man to break in.
Anyone with information should contact 01274 376459 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
