Cavendish 4 Ferrands Arms 5 - Ferrands took the honours in a cup classic when they beat Cavendish in their Division One Cup replay, which had as many twists as an Agatha Christie thriller. The visitors took an early two goal lead only for Cavendish to reply with three before the break.
Play in the second half continued to rebound from end to end and Cavendish tok a 4-2 and looked to be on their way to victory, but Ferrands refused to give up and found the struck a giller blow. Cavendish scorers were C Brookes (2), D Harman (2), Ferrands scorers not available.
Granby Phoenix 6
St Annes Res 1
The home side had the edge throughout the game, but at half time only led by a goal which was clearly offside -- a problem which is going to continue in matches without official linesmen. In the second half Saints drew level from the spot and a draw looked the likely outcome until they started to feel the pace.
Granby produced a late flurry of goals to overwhelm St Annes. Chris Simpson (3) and Mark Critchlow scored on their first outing for Phoenix, with other strikes from David Nelson and full back R Collinson.
Brown Cow 0
Three Horses 10
Someone forget to tell the home team that the festive season was over -- and the weather had relented -- for they had only nine players and paid a heavy price. Despite the one way traffic they never threw in the towell. Scorers were Damian Rowell (6) his brother Jamie Rowell (2) and single strikes for Peter Needham and L Rhodes.
Raiseprint 5
Bridge Inn 0
The home side opened with a goal in the first minute, but neither side appeared to gain control for the next 15 minutes. Raiseprint/Star scored their second and never looked back as they took total control. Although the young Bridge team will improve with experience they would benefit from a couple of experienced players to steady the ship.
n Goals by Andy Chaplain and Dave Midgley gave Bocking a 3-0 victory over Brown cow. An evenly contested game saw Keighley Victoria win their match by the odd goal in three.and Stanbury Park Rangers are flying the flag for the league, winning 2-1 in extra time to reach the next round of the County Sunday Cup.
